BRASS REPAIRS

Our Melbourne workshop is not a typical repair store that “value-adds” brass repairs to their list of services just to fill gaps in their work schedule. We are brass repair specialists and we complete work for a large range of clientele including but not limited to professional players, defence forces, serious brass collectors and even other repair stores.

We repair and service the full range of brass instruments – from piccolo trumpet to sousaphones. No job too big or too small.

Often we are far more competitive in price compared to general repair stores just based on our experience as we’re just doing this type of work all the time.

We are happy to complete complicated dent removal, custom machining, piston repairs or any other projects for stores and other workshops alike. Please call or email for a quote and a lead-time. Confidentiality and privacy assured.

Servicing/Cleaning – We use a proprietary solution known for effective cleaning without damaging the instrument. Our workshop is also equipped with a quality 400L Ultrasonic tank that will fit 6/4 Tubas, Sousaphones, Bass Saxophones etc. This machine also runs at the correct kHz frequency for cleaning brass instruments.

Dent Removal – Our workshop is well versed in dent removal techniques and prefer to use traditional methods as these yield the best results.

Soldering – Soft soldering and hard soldering (brazing). Often on instruments with quality finishes we are able to solder without damaging the original finish.

Polishing – Hand polishing a flute to machine polishing and refinishing a sousaphone using a 3phase industrial polishing machine  – we are able to impart a perfection finish.

Valve Alignment – Stockists of synthetic felts that are resilient to compression and also able to cut custom felts to properly fit your instrument.

Custom Machining – Our machine shop is the best equipped workshop in the industry for machining parts for your brass and woodwind instrument.

Mouthpiece Alterations – We are able to re-plate and refinish mouthpieces, bend the mouthpiece to fit your embouchure, alter the rim, ream the throat and do a range of services to your piece.

Friendly Advice – Our experience as repairers is made available to assist you with maintenance enquiries, the acquisition of second-hand equipment, our opinions on the build quality of different brands and we are also happy for just a general chit-chat.
